Difference between GTX 1060 and 1070 for 3D Software

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 @ 3.7 GHz, GTX 1060, 16 GBs of RAM, and 520w of PSU.

I know the difference between the two in terms of gaming but

What is the difference if I upgrade my gpu to GTX 1070 in 3D/2D Modeling/Animation Software, like Autodesk Maya, AutoCAD, 3DSMax, Blender, Harmony, Flash etc.

Or some editing programs like Adobe Premiere, DaVinci etc.

Also, should I change my PSU to a higher watts? or should I stick with my Seasonic M12II-520 EVO Bronze 80Plus Power Supply 520watts Modular?

Plus, when gaming, my GPU just always use around 5 to 15% all the time, what's the problem with that?

I have a recent problem that my display crashes when rendering a 3D frame using Mental Ray with its highest setting, is changing my GPU will solve that problem? My display is only 1080p @60Hz

With better GPU, you'll get less render time.

Though, for best result, render the initial item with GPU while doing the final render with CPU, if you can. Reason behind that is while GPU render is much faster than CPU render, GPU render isn't as precise and can produce errors in calculations.

Also, there's no need to replace your PSU. M12II-520 Evo is a good quality unit and it also has more than enough wattage for GTX 1070, which is only 30W more than GTX 1060 (150W vs 120W).

As far as display cutting out goes, that points towards software issue. Either GPU drivers or Mental Ray itself is acting up. Though, i'm not that good in fixing software issues since i'm hardware expert and not a software expert.

About GPU usage in gaming; is that in all games or just in few games? To see if your GPU still performs as it should, run Unigine Superposition in 1080p High preset,
