Difference between intel first generation processor and second g

hy guys
help me to know bout the difference between intel core I first generation and second generation and third generation,
and whats their lga;s? their codename, etc. I read somewhere that intel first generation processor called arrandale and somewhere I read that its know as Clarkdale? whats that. and please tell me is that possible in a series of processor a lot of architecture can exist? and also tell me the number mechanism of the processors of all generation
