Hey so I'm starting my first build and I've chosen the GeForce gtx 1060 for my gpu but I don't understand the difference between all the different manufactures of that card like the msi geforce gtx 1060 x or the msi armor ocv1 or nvida's gtx 1060 or pny's even asus and evga have gtx 1060s but I don't know what is the difference because from what I've read they all use the same chipset so what's the real difference any information helps thanks

Solution
Certainly 6 Gb model. If you want silent card, take one with 3 fans. If you want small size, look for 1 fan model. If just looking for performance, go for 2 fans model. Once you made that choice, select cheapest card with that many fans that looks good for you from reputable brand (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA, XFX, Zotac and probably few more). Then check out if your PSU has right plugs for the chosen card and enough power, and if card is not longer then your case allows.

core speed, quality of design/components like the cooler, and number of additional pcie cables required

the first doesnt matter much, dont pay extra for it
