Just so there is no confusion, despite what I wrote in the Subject header, I am well aware of what mini usb A/B and usb A/B/AB look like and am confident that there are no bandwidth or length differences between the two, either. What I do want to know, though, is if there are no differences in performance or ease of implementation, why does a manufacture use mini-B as opposed to reglular B? I mean, why not embedd mini USB A into a mobo instead of regular old USB A, for instance? I believe the USB specification calls for certain procedures, but I'm not sure how these procedures relate to peformance or design implementation.
Thank you very much.
