difference between p2 4-pin and p4 4-pin connector

I am in the process of replacing the power supply on my desktop, the old power supply comes with a p2 4-pin connector, I found a new one on line but it has a p4 4-pin connector, what's the difference? thanks

The 4+4 pin goes into the slot by the processor and the 24-pin goes into the the slot on the right side of the motherboard.
