[SOLVED] Difference between Socket Type LGA 2011-3 and LGA 2011?

Wanted to see before I buy a new CPU for my motherboard, is there a difference between the two LGA 2011-3 and LGA 2011 or are they the same thing? I have an MSI-X99A motherboard and I'm looking to get an i7 9700k cpu.

9700k needs a z390 motherboard not lga 2011

Aye, the 9700k is a lga 1151 chip. The lga 2011 v0 is an older platform that used ddr3 and sandy bridge chips, lga 2011 v3 is newer and uses ddr4 and broadwell chips and xeon v3 and xeon v4 chips. What's you current chip?
