Difference in motherboard revisions.

Hey guys,i was wondering if you could tell me what the difference is between the GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP rev 1.0 motherboard and the GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP rev 1.1 motherboard?

What does revision even mean?

Can i change my revision by bios update?

Both motherboard are by gigabyte.

An improvement has been made from the previous version.

and do you know what has been improved exactly?

No, it means they may have changed some components, like values on capacitors ect. You could try to contact tech. support and they might tell you what was in the revision.

A revision is an indicator of a change to the original motherboard.
One can not upgrade your motherboard from one revision to another.
Most of the time, it is for minor improvements.
But sometimes it is to enable support of newer cpu's, or a newer ram tech.
One biggie was when there was the sata bug on the original P67 based motherboards.
In that situation, the motherboard makers did a free exchange to correct a major problem.

If you do not have a problem, don't worry about it.
If you are still curious, contact the motherboard support people.

I think you must stay on Original Revision 1.0 rather than getting revision 1.1... minor changes... but some mobo manufacturer de-grading there new revision than the original... ORIGINAL revision is for REVIEW... so they use HIGH GRADE component than New Revision... So they SAVE manufacturing COST 😛
