Hello everyone, hope your day is going well. I am looking to purchase a new laptop for my Junior year in college. It's been one hell of a decision to make that has been constantly nagging me for the past week and a half but I finally decided to go with the Lenovo Yoga C930. I originally planned on purchasing the laptop from Best Buy, but then saw on Lenovo's website it was cheaper. I also then saw the Yoga C930 Glass and let me tell you it looks beautiful and I want it. But here's my issue. The glass is $1250 on Lenovo, while the standard C930 is $1485. The only difference between those two are the ssd drive. But on Best Buy, the standard C930 is $1499 with only a 512 SSD. Am I missing something?? Why is the glass so much cheaper than the standard model? Can someone please help me look through the specs and try to figure this out?

Here are links to the websites (Please make sure to scroll down or click View Models):

I have even reached out to Lenovo and Best Buy and both of them only tell me that it is that the back of the screen is Glass. But I don't know it just doesn't seem right that it's that much cheaper. Does anyone have experience with the Glass version? Does it crack easily? Any help would be SO appreciated, it's starting to drive me crazy.

Glass is durable and somewhat resistant to scratches but if dropped, it gets shattered completely.

So, i would recommend to get the standard version, provided that you can afford both.

Glass is more of a collector's thing.

but if it's cheaper, i wouldn't mind buying it.

Fair enough. The laptop is not something that is just gonna sit at my desk all day. I will be carrying it around school and everywhere else I go.

If you're carrying it around in your bad and throw it down every now and then get the non-glass.
Repairing the glass screen once or twice would probably make up the price.
If you take more attentive care then get the glass ver.
