Difference in SATA HDD and Apple Flash Drive

Hi all

Normally all computers and laptops come with 500 GB SATA HDD.

But Apple is selling MACbooks with 128GB FLASH DRIVE.

What the difference in SATA HDD and FLASH STORAGE DRIVES ???

I beleive the MacBook is just using an SSD instead of a hard drive. Instead of rotating magnetic platters, it uses RAM. The speed difference is huge. The trade off is capacity.

So FLASH Drive and SSD, both are same

Pretty much although they use faster ram in SSD's than a typical USB thumb drive. Also, SSD's have advanced firmware to control wear leveling, TRIM, and other features.
