I currently have 2 x 4GB HyperX Fury 2666MHz. I learned that dual channel memory won't work if you have different capacities on each channel. What if I get another 2 x 8GB memory cards, and put it in on each channel. This will make each channel have 12GB of memory, and will this type of set up utilize dual channel?

I have a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU and MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard.

Mixing RAM has the possibility of not working at all. Dual, single, whatever.

If you want more RAM, it would be beneficial for your Ryzen to just buy 2 x 8GB of faster RAM (3000MHz), than trying to make what you have work with something new.
