I currently own a 5800X3D
some of my clockspeeds are like 3500 and some are 4600
I was just wondering if that was normal?
because I see videos on youtube and they all seem to be in sync
also any thoughts on 7950x3D vs 13900KS?
I believe in terms of gaming the 3DVCache would just wreck the 13900KS

Yes, it's perfectly normal. Ryzen uses an opportunistic boost algorithm that boosts a single core at a time to highest clocks only when actually needed and there is sufficient thermal and power headroom. It tries to keep a low clock otherwise, even turning entire cores off (C6 deep sleep) to conserve power. Also, when boosting it favors it's better cores so you may not see some of them doing it very often or at all.

Nobody will know with any certainty the prowess of a 7950X3d processor until they have review samples...and won't tell us until NDA's are released. But 5800X3d already gives a 13900K fits in gaming so there's every reason to believe these will too.

Rumors are suggesting the 7950X to be 10%-20% faster than 13900k.

So we do not know.

Typically, with a 10%-20% uplift in IPC performnace the 7950x should surpass Intel in gaming until they release their new cpu later this year. It's a different impelmentation of the 3D cache on the 7000 series vs the 5800x3d.

I also have a 5800x3d now for 1440p gaming and should be a great gaming pc for years to come.

Sure, a 7950x oe 13900KS can pump out massive framerates at 1080p.

Most people have a 75Hz-144Hz monitor. Build your gaming pc around your monitor and not the other way around.

Lemme update my situation;
5800X3D, CL18 4000MHZ DDR4RAM, and a 4090 on a 32 inch 165hz Gaming monitor.
I get frequent stutters in Killing floor 2 and PubG and even in Dungeon Fighter online which are all pretty old games
I just want 165hz constantly at all times...
maybe its because I only have TWO power cables plugged into the GPU? but plugging in 3 made my pc not boot
I also have turned off all the LED's but my RAM KIT and AIO FAN lights are still on, everything else is shut down.
honestly I could just use the rig for years to come like he said, but its one of those things where im jsut like
"Do I want to upgrade to DDR5"?
I also have a 850W PSU, so I'm assuming the GPU and CPU might lack the extra power to go OC or something
