Different Fans for the H100i But 3 pins instead of 4

Solution
You can just connect it anyway. Only difference is that it does not support PWM fanspeed control.

But I am curious, why change out the fans? The SP120 Quiet fans that are stock on the H100i are damn good as is. They may even be better than the ones you have selected. Do you have a link to the fans you purchased?

There ^^^

Now i bought em because of the size so it will make the Rad fit inside my rosewill thor v2 case. now if I still use the Gelid fans even knowing they are 3 pin can i be able to use the corsair link feature and be able to control the fans from there?..... aslo my MOBO where it says "CPU fan" is a 4 pin now in the other hand the cable from the H100i is also a 3 pin conector

My H100i 3 pin CPU wire is plugged into the mobo 4 pin and reports the pump speed fine. I have a Rosewill Blackhawk case and ended up modding the top removable piece to fit the fans on top of the case with the radiator inside the case.

Are you using the stock fans that came with the H100i?
I'm swaping them for the Gelid but like I sais they are 3 pin, but the "Y" splitter is a 4 pin connector. Now how many cpu fans conector does a motherboard normally has? more than one?

Use those fans on your chassis. Not the H100i. Those fans are not meant for pushing air through a radiator.
Fans for radiators require higher static pressure(SP120 - static pressure 120mm) to push the air through the tight fins on the radiator.

These fans have high airflow but almost no static pressure, making them useless on a radiator...

Solution

the problem with the stocks corsair fans is that they block the 8 pin EATX 12v_2 connector and the 4 pin EATX 12V_1 connector from the mobo just for a tinybit... thats why i got the gelid slim fans.

Unles I plug in the connectors then install the fans to the rad.

Hmmm... You can always try mounting the radiator outside if your case supports it.

Yes I am using the stock fans. My mobo has two CPU fan connectors, one four pin and one three pin. Even though the fans will connect to the Y connector using only three pins maybe the Corsair link software will control fan speed still since the H100i connects to the mobo's USB header.

I had to install my fans on top of my Rosewill Blackhawk case, pic link below.
