Different Frequency RAM

Hello everyone, I own an Asus K53SD notebook, and it has 4GB of RAM, running at 800 MHz. I want to upgrade my memory to 8GB by adding an other stick to the free slot, but I can only find sticks running at 1333 MHz. My question is: Is it safe to have different RAM sticks, running at different frequencies? Will I have any problems? Or is the motherboard going to set both to run at 800 MHz? Thanks in advance!
