Different Ram? Please Help :3

I accidentally got these corsair vengeance 16gb ram

but ive been wanting the corsair dominator platinum rams and i was thinking about getting both but not sure if i can mix both of these together

it is very hard to say if you would be able to run them at the same voltage and values.

you really only need 2 stick and 8gb so you should try return the ones you got for a exchange on the other set or a 4 stick set.

=( alright but what happends if you do try does it not start up? or does it not use 2 of the sticks? Or nouthing happends at all?

yes, it could not start up or have low stability and there is a possibly that you could have to reset the bios.

you should run a memory test if you are trying to customize in that way.

You might but have serious doubts if you'll ever get them fully stable, your best bet is to return all and get a single set of the full amount you want, or sell them off, though without any real info to work with (we have no CPU/mobo listed, no idea what your doing with the rig), my guess would be the 16GB set should be plenty for you

16 should be plenty until at least 2016 and by then DDR4 would be mainstream
