So I have been thinking to upgrade my RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB and I have finally decided to do so. Only thing is that the RAM I'm currently isn't in stock in any of the stores in my country.
So my question is will other RAM sticks work? I heard that the faster RAM defaults to the slower one.
Here is the RAM I've got in my computer: https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/HX421C13SB_8.pdf

Solution
Better sell old ram and buy 16gb as a kit. It can get really messy if new ram is different brand, different specs, voltage etc. If they match in all, it is highly possible they would work but no guarantee. You may also lose dual channel which has a performance impact. If you want to try and match it with another ram, just make sure they share the same specs. However save yourself the hassle and go for a tested kit
