I'm building my first gaming pc; I check the pc parts on different stores such as Amazon, Newegg and others.

Almost always, the same pc component on Amazon has better ratings then on Newegg. When I read the reviews for pc component on Newegg, there is always problems; when I check the reviews on amazon, there is less problems. It seems that pc components from Amazon or TigerDirect are more reliable and less defective.

Does it make a difference on which U.S. store we buy our pc components? Has anyone noticed this too?

It is not a matter of reliability, but customer subjectivity.
Most, if not all retailers will offer identical products regardless of said reviews.

In most cases, it is a different knowledge base reporting the reviews site to site, so therefore there is bound to be more problems reported.
