Okay, so I bought a 144hz monitor a few months back. Turned out that the switching adapter that came with it emitted an infernal electrical noise when my computer was turned off. Customer support wanted me to send the entire monitor + adapter, but I felt it was too much of a nuisance now to send everything away for several weeks when it was just that small thing not working.
So what I want to know is. If I found another switching adapter (different model) with the same input/output and the same end/plug(?), could I then use that?
From what I've read online you can fix that noise by securing certain parts in the adapter, but mine has no screws so opening it isn't an option.
If you know anything that could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you
(Also, I have no clue if my question falls under the Other Consumer Electronics topic)
