Different ways to get Internet

I just finished building my computer and it is too far away to use an ethernet cable. I am using currently a little wifi antenna through USB but is extremely slow. What other ways are there that I could get internet?

How much is a powerline going to slow down the internet speeds. I was originally going to go with a powerline but a friend said that they can slow down the internet.

It depends on the quality of your cicuitry. I have a wireless powerline and it doesn't slow down my connection at all.
