Difficulties choosing a mobo

Sep 22, 2011
Hey people. I want to upgrade my motherboard.I have some major issues with external PCIe cards so i wan to get rid of it. I have some mandatory requirements
-it should have an integrated vga, as i will be buying new graphic card in a month or two
- socket am3+ preferably

My current set up
-Mobo ASrock 760GM-GS
-Phenom II B60 @3.30Ghz
-2x2GB Kingston Hyper X 1600
-WD 500 GB Sata III
-Fortron FSP 500-60APN

I was looking at those models:

I was about to get the second one, but im am not sure if FX processor is worth it, does it make sense to upgrade my current CPU with a FX-4100 in the future?

My budget is about 105$-110$

Neither MOBO you listed offers AMD 'FX' support, the requirements are an AM3+ (plus) MOBO.

Here's a few AM3+ suggestions in your price range with onboard video -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007625%20600138080&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=22%7C13-128-440%5E13-128-440-TS%2C13-131-758%5E13-131-758-TS%2C13-131-733%5E13-131-733-TS

Better AM3+ with no onboard video -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007625%20600138080&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=22%7C13-128-519%5E13-128-519-TS%2C13-157-262%5E13-157-262-TS%2C13-157-280%5E13-157-280-TS%2C13-131-767%5E13-131-767-TS%2C13-128-521%5E13-128-521-TS

I like the ASRock 970 EXTREME4 from the bunch for (no video), and the ASUS M5A88-V EVO (onboard video) it's +$10 over the budget but a better choice. IMO if the 'plan' is to add a discrete GPU then get an AM3+ with no onboard video; you'll have improved frame rates and better features (cost one thing for another).
