Digihome TV won't connect to my wifi?

I have a Digihome smart TV and cannot seem to get it to connect to my wifi . It is the only device in my house that will not connect. My internet is password protected, and although my TV does acknowledge my router by displaying its name, every time I go through the procedure of entering my password, nothing happens, it just does not connect. I have no idea why but it's extremely frustrating! I've had two different internet providers since owning the TV and through both, my TV has been in the same situation. I've also tried to enter the details manually: the SSID + Security Type etc.. And it still will not connect.
Can anyone please help me!?

PS - yes I have the dongle needed for my TV and it is correctly in place.

is your router backwards compatible with A/B/G devices? and does your router have a Max connections Limit?

Sorry, I don't know my technical terms that well so forgive me, but can you define what you mean by " A/B/G devices" ?
And no, my router does not have max connections limit. Thank you

A/B/G are older versions of the 802.11 wireless band. N would be the standard most new devices are using today.

Oh okay, thanks... And in that case then yes my router is backwards compatible as it supports a lot older devices in my house than my TV, which is relatively new.
