Digital Camera has horizontal lines that flicker and show in pictures

I have a Kodak EasyShare Z1275 that my mom gave me when she got a new camera. It was fine until about a year after she gave it to me when it started to have these multicolored lines flickering on the screen and making pictures and video come out bad. Sometimes they come and go for no apparent reason.

it's seems from the sensor...

try cool down the camera for whole day at dry and cool place, and remove all the battery and memory card. Try record video with it on the next day. if the video look clear, it's mean the sensor on you camera had overheating, if not, maybe your sensor is defect...
