Digital File Cabinet/FileWise will not run

Neither of these programs will run on my Dim. 4300 Home SP2, all updates, no
trojans-spyware etc. I tried uninstall, reinstall, and tried to run from
safe mode. No luck.

I just get a run-time error.

Every other scanning program works OK.

I got this advice in another group;
" run MDAC component checker and also check
for update for MS JET 4.0 database engine. "

MS JET 4.0 is current; I ran MDAC and got this result;
Registry Detail Mismatch:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{0000054E-0000-0010-8000-00AA006D2EA4}
Value _Command25 Expected data=Command25;

I do not know if this any bearing on the problem of the two programs not
running.

A simpler solution might be a reasonably priced program that I could give a
try and see if it would work. Did a lot of googling and couldn't find
anything else.

Thanks for any help on the problem or advice on software.

i never heard of filewise but typed in filewise.com and got a web site for
electronic filing cabinet software... try contacting them regarding your
problem. tell then what version you have so they may be able to suggest a
solution, patch or upgrade. as an alternative, have a look at
www.scansoft.com

Thanks for the reply;

I forgot to mention that I have emailed both companies about tech support at
least 3 times the past month.
I may give scansoft paperport a try. Too bad there isn't a demo before
buying.
