I have been having problems with Digital S/PDIF 5.1 surround sound since updating to Windows 11 and Realtek dropped support for 5.1.
My Aorous Ultra Z390 now only supports 2.1 sound, I purchased an Asus Xonar SE card only to find that that only supports analogue 5.1 so returned that.

Is there any solution to my problem or is there a true PCIE soundcard within my £100 to £150 price range that can give digital S/PDIF, 5.1 surround sound and has working Windows 11 drivers?

Were you able to have surround before on another os?

I know optical is limited to 2.1 without compression and I don't think motherboards can do that, not encoded on the fly like dts connect / dolby digital live sound cards can.

Some compatibility info here.

For 5.1 encoded signals you want a sound card with dts connect / dolby digital live.
