Hi, I’m new here and I’m really hoping someone can “drop some knowledge” on me and transform me into an educated consumer. I did a little searching and couldn’t find the answer in any previous threads. This is the first time I’ve ever posted on a forum so if I blew it with the searching or the location of this topic, please be gentle.
THE PROBLEM/QUESTION
So I’m going to Law School in the fall and am going to be using A LOT of public transportation. It struck me that if I record my classes using a DVR, I could listen to them again on the way home and go back to them if I had questions from my classnotes.
Q – Is it possible record things on a DVR, name and organize them on the computer, and play them back on an ipod?
Every DVR I look at says it can “playback” mp3, but I guess my question is how do I get what it has recorded into mp3 format so I can put it on the ipod?
Is this just stupid and I should just listen to playback on the DVR itself? My concern here is that there will be a lot of files and I’ll need to be able to rename and organize them into folders by course and then by date. Can you rename the files and load them back onto a DVR?
I’m a mess, and I’m pretty sure there’s an easy answer to all this.
Got one?
Thanks,
Mark
