So I'm in a bind. After much trouble shooting I am fairly certain that my monitor has a bad power connector. The symptoms are starting to become unbearable. The monitor is a CTX VL 710 I bought in the summer of '97. So its 5 years old, it got contstant use over those years. Do I...

A) Get this monitor repaired.

or

B) Knowing that I will need a new monitor in the near future, just bite the bullit and get a new one.

...I just want to hear some input other than my own lust for a new monitor. Thanks.

I would probably get a new monitor since they aren't too expensive nowdays. If you have another computer you can use this monitor after you get it fixed (if cheap) later on.

😱 :frown: 😡 😱 😎   - What do you want to feel today? :)

The time is ripe to get a nice large crt screen. Take joy in the opportunity. I often hope my hardware will crap out for an excuse to buy new stuff.

Repair is probably not worth it. You could probably get a new higher quality equivalent for less.

Quality is better than name brand, even regarding beloved AMD.
