Thanks for any advice. I'm thinking of getting one with a Celeron D. What
scares me off are the reviews at New Egg of the Celeron Ds. Many comments
about them being noisy with the stock Intel fan and heatsink.

Dell uses a shroud and a different heatsink to cool the Celerons in the
Dimension 3000? I've read that Dell is pretty darn good these days at
producing quiet computers.

Is the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 better that the earlier version?

If I get 512mb is it one or two sticks of memory?

Thanks
Rick

I have a dimension 3000 with 2.4 Celeron D and it is very very quiet.
Yes they use a shroud and a different heatsink.
