Hi, I hope someone can help please, ?

I am trying to build a pc as small as possible, I have been searching the net for the answer, but can not find it anywhere, was wondering if somebody could measure their SAPPHIRE HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 PCIE card for me, I just need to it's length and height, it will be sitting on the ASRock 970 Extreme3 board, so please can anyone help, ??

The height and length of the SAPPHIRE HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 PCIE card, please, ??

Also will a 500 watt power supply be able to run this card, I am hoping to get a cheap chassis\case, the TomMade TC800B w/ 500w psu, and upgrading the power supply at a later date, ??

Any help would be so much appreciated,

Many thanks, in advance

Hi and thanks, Sapphire does not give it's size on their site, I have looked and I cannot find any info on newegg, that gives it length and height, by height I mean the distance from the motherboard to the top of it, where the crossfire connection is, can anyone help, please

not sure why height would matter... all standard GPUs are the height if the pcie bracket... add the length of the plug to the bracket if its coming out the top. You haven't said which sapphire 6850 either. normal length is 8.5 to 9.5. if you aren't sure email sapphire tech support.

Thanks again, appreciated. The reason why I need to know the height, is that need to source\find a small case\chassis.

So forgive for me this question, are all pcie brackets the same size, sorry i do not have one to measure, I am using a rather **itty laptop.

So i guess I will just be looking for a case that shows pcie exansions slot. Sourcing parts is hard for me, I am presently in the Philippines, and double check there is room for a card 9.5 inches in length, ??

It does not say the model name next to it, apart from it is the cheapest of the three sapphire cards the site advertises,

Thanks again

Hello,
According to Amazon.com,the dimensions of the card are-
Product Dimensions: 6.5 x 3.5 x 11.5 inches ; 1.3 pounds .
But,I just checked my HD 6850 and these would be closer-
length-8.5-9.5inches.
Height-1.5 inches(It is a Dual-Slot card,meaning it occupies the space of two PCI-E Slots but actually utilizes only one PCI-E x16 slot,mine is a PCI-E x16 v1.1)
http://www.modders-inc.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story2&reid=336
Besides that,my pc is a mid-size ATX case with the following dimensions-

Height: 38.7 cm (15.23 inches)
Width: 17.5 cm (6.89 inches)
Length: 41.4 cm (16.29 inches)

Bay Total Bays*
13.33 cm (5.25 inch) 2
8.89 cm (3.5 inch) 3
Pocket Media Drive 1
and it fits nicely. And you can run it even on a 460w Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus if your system has similar power consumption to mine-

Hope this helps.

Hi, many, many thanks, a sensible constructive answer, thank you.

This is the card I am looking at,

http://dynaquestpc.com/index.php/sapphire-hd6850-1gb-256bit-gddr5-vga-video-cards-graphics.html

On this Motherboard,

http://dynaquestpc.com/index.php/asrock-970extreme3-motherboard-am3.html

In this case,

http://dynaquestpc.com/index.php/asrock-970extreme3-motherboard-am3.html

But I have a feeling the case will be slightly too small, ??

The reason I need a small case, I need to take the PC as hand luggage, flying between the Philippines, the UK and Spain.

Newegg is no good to me, do not deliver to the Philippines, ahhhhh

I think the links for the motherboard and the case are the same. :) It is a bit difficult to say that it will fit in your case, without having a 'real' look at your case. When I purchased my card, even I was unsure about whether it would fit or not,but in the end, just decided to go for it.And you can also mail Sapphire or their distributor, asking for particulars. I am sure they will help you out there. :)

I have a feeling that your case is a bit too small. It's a micro-ATX and even though I have a Mid-ATX ,the HD 6850 fits nicely but I wouldn't say it has a lot of air flow. This card (or any other card for that matter) needs good airflow to function properly, otherwise you will face overheating problems.
Now,this person says he fitted the HD 6850 into his case and it's a micro-ATX.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/303509-33-hd6850

But ,I compared your case with his case, and there is some difference-
Your case-Case size(LxWxH) / (MM) 365*99*295mm(14.37''x3.89''x11.614'')
and his case-Physical Spec

Dimensions
15.00" x 7.50" x 13.80"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147112

Lets see what Sapphire says on this matter.Hope it helps you. :)

Sapphire Customer support, emailed me this, so it will not fit, as 99mm is under 4inches, ahhhh

This is a full size card, 8.5 inches in length 5 inches height and 1 inch
width.

I am trying to provide my son with a reasonably small case for his gaming system which has an ATX motherboard and HD 6850. The dimensions of your case are lots better than his HAF case. Could you tell me what case you are using? Thanks.

twburt,Is the motherboard micro-ATX or a full size ATX?That is because I only have a micro-ATX Motherboard (MSI MS 7525 is my motherboard's name) which can fit easily in a mid-size ATX Generic 2009 HP case(which is what I have, sadly) but I am certain it won't fit an ATX (i.e. Full Size ATX) Motherboard. If you already have your PC up and running, then download a software called CPUID CPU-z.When you run it,then it will show a "Mainboard" Tab>Check under that the specifications of your MotherBoard.Otherwise,it will be mentioned on the box in which you bought it.:) You can just mention the Motherboard size on this forum and the case you intend to buy and that's it,your problem will be solved!:)
