Well let me start with, I think i caused this my pc crashed in the middle of a defrag and when i booted up I get the message "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." And I have a 64 bit pc.. I took notice when I uninstalled my ccc drivers and then my usb's stopped working, so I tried to reinstall with the asus drivers and it gave me the message displayed above.. how do i stop this

I don't think you read that correctly at all, My operating system is 64 bit. When I uninstalled my catalyst control center, using express, it took my usb drivers off, so i went oh, i'll just redownload them. When I click the setup, in the asus driver file it gives me the "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." error. I tried with both 32 bit (even though I know I have 64 bit) and 64 bit and got the same error.

have you tried driver package (chipset driver) from AMD site?

It should also contain usb driver that tied with chipset...
for add-on chip (mobo/not tied with chipset) driver there is no other way than dl from the manufacture

but try the one from AMD first, and later try adding the other driver (ASUS ones)..
(the express uninstall may have removed other system file).....
