Direct connection between WAN and my netgear router?

I've just bought a Netgear router (WNDR4500v3) and I'm trying to make my Vodafone Station Revolution as useless as possible.

I'd like to use it just as simple modem and don't make port forwarding or any other shit that my router can do by itself.

I first thought that the best solution would be to put the router inside a DMZ but the Vodafone Station says that the IP of the router should be on the same subnet mask of the modem (right now it's on 10.0.0.1)

Should I move the router to 192.168.1.* and put it in DMZ or anything else?

Both 192 and 10 IP are private, NATed IP. What you seem to be asking is, gimme a simple modem, NO NAT. Sounds like you need to ask the ISP for a completely different box.

I've not that option... Luckily seems like that with the configuration described above everything seems working properly.

I've just a problem with some ports that seems to be always closed, but I guess it's my ISP's fault.
