Is there anyway to uninstall directx8 under windows 2000 without having to reinstall everything.?????????

If you Overclock an Intel Processor fast enough, it will turn into an AMD. True Story.

I don't think so, as Direct X binds itself to the OS, and older versions do not overwrite newer versions. You might look on the Direct X webpage and see if they discuss removal of DX8 anywhere.
