Direct X Issues?

So I'm trying to use a program that requires Direct X.

When I launch the program that requires Direct X I get:

"The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_38.dll was not found.
Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

So I download Direct X from Microsoft and I get this message when I try to install it:

"Error creating process
<C:\Users\Galactus\AppData\Local\Temp\lXP000.TMP\dxwsetup.exe>. Reason:
The requested operation requires elevation."

Any idea how to fix this?

Did you try to install it as an admin? That is what elevation means. right clicking the icon should let you install as admin, it should be an option.

LMAO ok, that worked. I had no idea that's what "elevation" meant. You'd think they could just say: "The requested operation requires admin" or something like that for us computer normies lol.
