DirectX 11.1 (win7) Useful for gaming? (affects graphic etc)

and please feel free to resolve my problem if you can,
when trying to install it, it says
"the update is not applicable to you computer" does it works if I download it from other sites instead of "MS update form"?
or even any solution

DX11.1 is W8 only as far as I am aware.

Some features are being included in the internet explorer 10 preview, that's been knows for a while.
DX 11.1 as a run time environment download wont install on a W7 PC because its not compatible because DX11.1 in its entirety is W8 only. Which is why is is coming up with the message
"the update is not applicable to you computer"

i wont be possible to have it on win7 and it has a minor effect on graphics
