Directx 11 sound device

What does it mean by directx 11 sound device? Does my motherboard Gigabyte G31M-ES2C has it? I pre-purchesed https://store.steampowered.com/app/866800/The_Walking_Dead_The_Final_Season/ which has 'directx 11 sound device as system requirements, plz explain. My graphics card is GT 1030 gddr5.

What cpu? If it's a core 2 duo or better it should run that game no problem. The GT 1030 is a direct x 11 capable GPU, sound will at least work over HDMI. It should also work through the motherboards sound card if you are using headphones or something.

Thanks for your reply, I have core 2 duo E7500 and I will upgrade it to Core 2 Quad Q6600 as soon as I get it from amazon, but I am using the GT 1030 via a HDMI to VGA active converter as my monitor (S19F350) only has VGA port, can you plz confirm that it will work? I am using a headphone with mic currently.

Yes, sound should work over your headphones. It wont work over HDMI with an adapter unless that adapter has a headphone jack on it.

Thank you for your reply, but can you confirm that sound will work via headphone, you are telling "sound should..", otherwise I will get a HDMI to VGA converter with audio port to plug my headphone to it, plz clarify, I am still confused.

I am not able to play any modern game with that spec, I play CS GO, Dota 2, Company of Heroes 2, Paladins etc
