I'm looking to buy a new graphics card this Black Friday/Cyber Monday for my budget build. Below are the specs for my computer (already built).

AMD FX-6300 (stock for now)
Rosewill 500 Watt PSU
8GBs DDR3 Ram 1600mhz

Right now the R7 260X is going for $110~ and the R7 265 is about $120~. I know with DirextX 11 the R7 265 is the clear winner, but its a older GCN chip that supports 11.2 whereas the 260X is a newer GCN chip and supports DirectX 12.0

My computer is designed for light 720P/1080P gaming and HTPC. Depending on sales, will DirectX 12 make a difference between the 2? I want to try to future proof the GPU as much as possible. Anyone know if TrueAudio on the 260X has been implemented in any games? Please no other GPU considerations, I'm set on one of these 2 GPUs.

You're getting confused here. All of the GCN cards support DirectX 12. What's getting tossed around is a "feature level" for dx12.

Take a look at this link and scroll down to the Radeon cards chart: http://wccftech.com/amd-confirms-gcn-cards-feature-full-directx-12-support-feature-level-111-gcn-10-feature-level-120-gcn-1112/
The Pitcairn cards have dx12 support

Oh, and the r7 265 available for $95 on newegg:

Thats the exact card I was looking at lol, but I don't trust rebates 😉

My question though is the "feature level" that comes with R7 260X going to increase it's "performance" in games that use it in the future? I know right now the R7 265 out performs, but will those features make the 260X more worth while in the future? And has True Audio been implemented in anything yet?

i know nothing about true audio
90% of the rebates on newegg are handled by the same company, and they even paid one of mine when i postmarked 2 days late, so you should be good on the rebate front

I would not expect the 260X to outperform a 265 in dx12
