Hi everyone,
Seem to have this problem and was looking every where for a solution how to fix it, but can't seem to find one, only for previous versions of windows, my PC setup:
i7 4790K
32GB RAM (8 X 8GB)
EVGA GTX 980 ti SC 2.0
SSD 256GB with Windows 10 64 bit pro
SSD 500GB
3 X 1TB HDD
ASUS VG248QE (1920 X 1080)(32bit) (144HZ) monitor: Generic PnP monitor
2 X LG 20EN33 (1600 X 900) (32bit) (60HZ) monitor: Analog
Thermaltake 1050watt PSU Gold semi modular
Recently finished a 3 monitor PC setup, but I only game on the 1080p monitor. I have noticed the 1080p monitor would display green dots all over the place while just in windows (not even gaming) when I set it to 144Hz, or anything above 60HZ (dots get less the lower the HZ and at 60HZ it will be gone), so I assume it was the DVI cable, I replaced it with a display port cable and the green dots were gone. Now I have realized whenever I play a game or watch a movie or series on VLC (it is set to 144Hz) the monitor would turn off briefly or go black for about 1 - 2 seconds before I have a visual again. This does not happen on 60Hz.
I went into run - Dxdiag and DirectX Diagnostic tools gave me the following error message 'DxDiag has detected that there might been a problem accessing Direct3D the last time this program was used. Would you like to bypass Direct3D this time?'
When I click no, the DirectX diagnostic tools would crash, 'DirectX diagnostic tools has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution' and when I click yes it disables the DirectX Features (DirectDraw Acceleration: Disabled, Direct3D Acceleration: Not Available, AGP Texture Acceleration: Not Available)
When I only have one monitor connected the DirectX Features will be enabled and I will not receive the error message, is there something I missing here? On the notes from the DirectX diagnostic tools it states 'No problems found' on all 3 monitors.
Also when on one monitor and the other 2 is disconnected and it is set to 144Hz it does not black out for a second or two, everything is working as it should. Is it possible that the 1080p monitor and the 2 '900p' monitors does not play well together?
I did do a Nvidia driver update recently but I don't think that could be the problem, it also seems that I am one of the first to have this problem with directX 12?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
