Just now upgraded windows 10 on laptop.. i checked the directx version in DXDIAG..
In that it shows directx 11.2.. When will i get directx 12???

Solution
These are the requirements for DirectX 12:

1. Your GPU MUST support DirectX 12. For example, the AMD Radeon HD 7340 cannot. There are some others as well. Check with AMD/Nvidia. Intel HD Integrated GPUs most likely cannot support it.

2. You MUST have the latest GPU driver installed, and it MUST be for Windows 10 specifically.

That's all I know of. 😛
I read somewhere that some programs / applications hadn't yet been updated to know DirectX12 *exists* so they default to the highest value possible which is wrong.

But that said, if you have a DX12 enabled card and Windows 10, you ought to have DX12 - whether you can see it right now or not.

I wouldn't worry too much though, there's not much out there to do with DX12 yet!

with the GTX960 I see DX12, but with an older GPU it's only showing 11.1.

use dxdiag.

just hold on a sec, which r9 200 series is it? Because r9 290 for example supports dx12 with the latest driver from amd (15 7 1 windows 10) .
Must be an issue of amd drivers that creates this problem? Your post with your gtx980 is useful for us.

For example 3DMark informs at feature test that DX12 is not supported from this system, or a message like that, although i am in windows 10 with r9 290.

instead of installing the driver that supports windows 7,8,8.1.
try installing the driver that specifically supports windows 10 and YES,they are available.
please dont depend on "geforce experience",install it manually.
This process worked for me.USING W10 HOME 64BIT.I serously think it will work for PRO TOO.
