Ff14 and Civilisation 6 have been having directx crashing errors. I've monitored my temperatures, updated my gfx driver and have been researching for an answer and I'm at my wits end. I don't have anything overclocked etc.

I have ran the windows memory diagnostic tool, no problems. I've ran the heaven benchmark tool and the screen goes black approximately 10 seconds in, but the music still plays. I've done a clean, all files deleted, reinstall of Windows to no avail. I'm not sure what else to try.

To clarify, it's just the games throwing up the error. Sometimes there's an issue with sound repeating in quick succession like when someone talks. And other times it all seems fine.

EDIT: Throwing in some updates here.

I can play League of Legends with no issue.

I installed DDU, entered safemode and ran it. Reinstalled the graphics driver directly from Nvidia, unchecked all boxes except for the graphics driver. Problem still persists.

The heaven benchmark tool crashes every time I use it, after a couple of seconds.

I'll run that now. The RAM is recently new and the computer itself is having little to no problems. Could the RAM still be the issue?

Sorry, I'm trying to get it back up again to see.

I went in game and it ran for a good couple of minutes. It then started having graphical issues in the game and the whole system crashed.

Looking for the error now.

EDIT: It wasn't a blue screen or anything. The monitors went black, the system restarted (My PC Speakers beeped two short beeps and then the same again.) It went through BIOS then to a black screen with nothing. I've since restarted again and it's now fine.

To reply with an answer, it says "A fatal DirectX error has occurred.(11000002)

I'd assume the code is Square Enix's error code. The message is pretty much the same for Civilisation 6

I have also read this thread, amoung many others. It doesn't a solution to the issue. The issue is also present on other games, such as Civilsation 6.

I should also clarify, none of this has been an issue until the other night when it first randomly happened, to which it has persisted.

Must be a bug or something. Only people you can ask are the developers. If the game is the prob

If you're using an Nvidia card, reinstall the drivers / do a clean install in its setup. Untick everything except the drivers and HDMI audio if you use it

Dont think you need the Physx drivers

Attempting a clean install with DDU then.

I don't think it's specific to FF14, I think I'm having an issue with DirectX itself. If my GPU were on its way out, could this be a possible sign?

Done, so I'm going to run the benchmark and see what happens.

So I went in to FF14 and tried changing some settings. Then black boxes were coming up and randomly appearing all over the game. I tried to take a screenshot, however the screenshot looks normal?

MERGED QUESTION
Question from scotthkinsey : "Windows 10 DirectX fatal errors and causing crashes"

Today I had a BSOD for Video Scheduler Internal Error.

have you tried running DDU and then instead of loading drivers from Nvidia, run windows update and let windows find the drivers? They are more stable than the current ones from Nvidia.

the sound repeating is just a driver thing, that can happen after a crash.

Righto, no difference. I've even attempted at installing an old driver that should work (As it did at the time) to no avail.

I honestly don't know what to do now. I've tested my CPU using the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, and it passed without issue. If there's a tool for that, that Tom's Hardware recommends, hit me with it.

Do I use a benchmark tool to test my GPU?
