Hi. I'm a student on my school laptop and i'm having trouble installing Directx on the laptop. Everytime i try to install it, it says i need administrative rights. Im not looking for a hack or anything to make myself an admin, i was just wondering if there was a way i could install it without needing admin rights, or if there is a zip or rar file that has it pre-installed?.

Help would be appreciated.

XXX = where your laptop falls short of the minimum system requirements
and not just a little bit short - you're massively short of...

I'm trying to run need for speed the run, when i got the following error:

Failed creating D3D device of at least version 10.0 on adapter "Intel(R) HD Graphics" with driver "Unknown". Error is DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED ("Unsupported.").

This is typically caused by not having the minumum required DirectX support in the GPU.
For NVIDIA GPUS, DirectX 10.0 support is required.
For AMD and GPUs from other vendours, DirectX 10.1 support is required.

As The Stig (the real stig? :) ) said, it's almost certain - for obvious reasons - that the owner (school) wants to restrict what you can do. Kinda makes sense....then again....it does belong to the school? - it's not a laptop you bought for school use (then you'll get a different answer from us in which case WR2 info is the way to go)?

We can tell from the error message that your laptop only has Integrated Graphics - we just don't know which Intel IGP you have.
Knowing which CPU you have will let us figure that out.

Im not sure as to what exactly you want when you say hardware so i'll just tell you this.

Acer Aspire 1830
CPU: Intel Core i3-380UM 1.33GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB (2.80 GB usable)
System type: 32-bit Operating System

" Everytime i try to install it, it says i need administrative rights"

- we've already answered your question but do answer my previous question:

does belong to the school? (in which case we can't help you) or is it a laptop you bought for school use? (in which case we can help you)

It belongs to the school but is in my care for the next 2 years.
And it SHOULD let me install it because when i first got it, it was able to install everything i downloaded. I picked up a virus a while ago and had to restore it to a backup and it must of glitched or something happend along the way and now a lot of the programs i tried redownloading would not install. (Ive tried restoring to a backup multiple times)

well that explains a lot. 🙁 Well thank you for helping me with all this. I didn't realize 1 game could need so many requirements. -.-
