When I took my PC in for repairs, the guy that handed me back my pc said that one of my ram slots is broken. Today I tried to insert my old RAM stick into the RAM slot, the pc didnt boot. I ran a systems check using the program preinstalled in windows 10. Is there any way for me to fix it or am I stuck with 3GBs of ram?

Solution
No there isn't, only a new motherboard, generally a new PC is in order, this is an old and a bad prebuild, but if you want to keep it, then 3x2gb is your limit with dead slot empty.

It has 4 RAM slots but one of them doesn't work. I don't know the exact model but I have a Dell Inspiron 570 and everything is stock except a extra HD and a SSD.

the Dell inspiron 570 supports up to 8gb ram in 4x2GB. So with 1 dim dead you can go for 3x2gb and a total of 6gb max.

Is there anyway I could try to fix my dead ram slot? Before my RAM slot broke, my Google Chrome was loading websites fine but with only 3GB of ram, websites take forever to load.
