Disable 5ghz search from adapter

I need to disable 5ghz search from my adapter I am using an open wifi and a new network has shown up on the 5ghz range causing some sort of interference with my usual 2.4ghz one, they both have the same SSID, the wireless adapter I am using is a USB tp-link wdn3200.

Not possible. 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz can't interfere with each other as the run at different frequencies. You can the Web based interface to remove it but typing you ips address in the Web site url.

As I said, they are open WiFi's I can't change the settings of the router through IP address, I need to somehow block my adapter from searching 5ghz range, also you say they don't interfer but, everytime my network drops and for some reason connects to this other 5ghz network, even though I don't have any networks set to automatically reconnect.
