Microsoft experts --

Regarding Win XP Pro SP1: I would like to modify Windows Explorer to
disable the moving of folders by "drag and drop" -- or at least to
prompt the user before doing such action. A previous posting
suggested the following modification to the Registry:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones\0] "1802"=dword:00000001

However, when I tried this (00000001 would supposedly produce a
prompt) it had no effect whatsoever. 🙁 Could anyone suggest a
different method, that would accomplish this task? Thanks much!

Right click on the Windows task bar, go to properties,
start menu, customize, advanced, uncheck enable drag and
drop.

Beck --

Thanks much! However, this does not work. 🙁 Please bear in mind
that I want to disable drag/drop folders for WINDOWS EXPLORER, and not
for the Start Menu. Thanks again,

I have been looking for a solution as well... When I modify the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones\Zones\0
Value "1802"=1

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones\Zones\1
Value "1802"=1

This worked just fine for Win2000, but WinXP doesn't seem to respond to it.
Please HELP!?!!?!

Thanks..
