Disable folder pane in Explorer

Hi,

I am using Windows XP.

Whenever I use CTRL+click on a link to a folder, it opens it with the explorer folder pane opened.

I tried the following, but it does not solve my problem :

"Folder Options -> 'File Types' tab -> hilite 'Folder' (not File Folder!) -> click 'Advanced' -> hilite the 'open' action -> click 'Set Default'.

Anyone knows how to fix this issue?

Have you tried to restore defaults, in folder options under general and view tab?

I try setting it back to default but the problem still persist.
