So I've recently discovered this HPET thing while scowling though the BIOS.If did some research and most people seems to recommend to disable it.However,I was wondering is disabling HPET will have different effects on certain setups.I'll leave my setup below and I hope someone can help clear this up for me.Thanks.

MB-Asus M5A97 Rev.1
CPU-AMD Phenom xII 960T BE

Solution
I leave mine disabled in the bios. Most of the time it is disabled in windows Anyway & you have to enable it thru the command prompt (Can't Remember exact command). Anyway Windows 7 & 8 does a great job picking the fastest event timer. I don't notice any difference enabled or disabled so I leave mine disabled.
