Disable POST All Together?

Solution
POST is necessary you cannot get around it. POST turns on the cpu, finds the gpu and turns it on, post turns on the northbidge and southbridge. Post finds the hard drive controller, harddirve then finds the first bit of software on the hard drive to start the os loading.

Now you can disable some of its unnecessary parts like long memory checks extra but NO POST means no hardware will turn on. only thing that doesn't need to post is the power supply.

your motherboard is kind of limited about the only option your bios that you can adjust to make your computer post faster is to set your hard drive as the first boot device(so it wont check other boot devices first). I see no other options that you can change that will make your pc go...

The post takes about 10 seconds, but if it was disabled I could be logged in in about 5 seconds. My PC starts up quick, but I'd like to disable POST and enable it if I need to troubleshoot later. It's a just an annoying inconvenience.

a few sec will not hurt you. (I remember the pain of computers that took 5 min to boot, then dialing up to connect to the internet could take 10 min before you even got to a web page from the moment of pushing power button. now 5 sec is forever)
