[SOLVED] disable startup beeping on dell?

my dell laptop beeps at startup because it has a Real Time Clock (RTC) power fail
, however it works fine, the only problem i have is with the beeping. is there a way to disable it without solving the RTC problem? i was thinking of unplugging the audio thing from the laptop since i use headphones but im not sure if the beeping uses the same audio thing

The correct way to deal with unusual BIOS beeps is to fix whatever is causing them.

Have you tried replacing the CMOS battery?

yes, it didnt solve it

Then the RTC chip itself may have failed, in which case the motherboard has to be replaced.
If you don't want to go down that route and your laptop works fine apart from the beeps, put your laptop in to sleep mode instead of shutting it down, you shouldn't get those beeps when you wake up your laptop from sleep mode.
