Does anyone know a way to completely disable the in-game human-typed
chat messages in T2? Most of it is a bunch of immature potty mouth
dribble and I don't want my kids to become potty mouths around the
house.

Best you can do is go into the game settings, hit the GAME tab and
select Bad Word Filter.

I have mine set to ignore the truly bad words. Like "Houston" and
"Vehicles".

Which servers?

Try http://beml.org/ and look for the pickup game topics in the forums
there. Also stop by the BEML IRC channel (irc://irc.dynamix.com/thebeml)
and watch for pickup announcements.

You mean upper left-hand corner of screen? Who has the time or
motivation to look at that chat?

I think you can make the number of lines fewer or maybe even hide
that window. You might need a script or two from here.

There are some which allow modifying the display. There might be
other such scripts I don't know about. Ask further if you need any
help.
