Disable USB Charging

Hi,

I have the HyperX Cloud II headset paired with a Gigabyte Z97X-SLI motherboard and I have been told to try turning off USB charging to potentially fix the interference coming through the headset, I cannot find an option like this in the BIOS, is it possible on this motherboard?

Thanks

Thank you for your reply. I had previously seen this option but wasn't 100% what it did so thanks for confirming it for me. Unfortunately I changed the setting and I am still getting interference through the included USB sound card. Is there anything else that may fix this issue? I know my GPU causes interference through my 3.5mm onboard audio, so I am guessing it is possible that it is causing interference with my USBs, should I take it out and use onboard graphics to test this?

I can understand if you would get interference using the 3.5mm audio jack, because this uses your mobo's audio circuitry. However, when using the USB, you get a digital signal thru the USB. Then the USB adaptor has a DAC and amp to convert the digital stream to analog and send it to the headphones. In other words, you're totally bypassing the mobo audio when you use USB. So it's interesting that you're getting additional noise. Just out of curiosity, have you tried the usb adaptor and headset on another computer or any other audio sources? Any noise when using these other audio sources?

I have tested the headset using the USB sound card on a PS4 and it still had the hissing but on another PC it was either quiet enough to not be noticeable or non existent, I will plug the headset back into this computer when I get the chance and see if I can hear it this time.

If I plug the headset into the 3.5mm jack of my sound card, I get no interference through the headphones but the mic hisses as always (My old headset did the same, due to the interference).
