hey i recently enabled xmp in bios because my ram was underperforming in a benchmark and i was wondering if i run the benchmark again with it enabled and there is no improvement should i disable it or just leave it enabled
Leave it on. And make sure you have the correct profile selected for the speed you want. Alternatively, you can set all the parameters manually, but XMP is just much easier.
