I used the amd Ryzen Master utility and disable 2 cores to see if the cpu would run cooler. when I tried to enable them back I get an error "Number of cores disabled lesser than current cannot be applied. This requires power cycle". I tried uninstalling Ryzen master utility and I still get 6 cores. I'm hoping I can get back the 8 cores. Im hoping I didn't just permanently turn my 8 core Ryzen 1700 into a 6 core

Solution

Thank you for the reply.
I have an MSI B350 Tomahawk MB. I looked in there and it would do auto up to 6 cores. I set it to six and indeed got 6. I went back in and set it to auto again and got 8.
Problem fixed.

I tried this but when I opened ryzen master and cpu-z again it still says I have 4 cores and 8 threads 🙁 I went in, set it to 6, went out, went to my desktop, still says 4 cores and 8 threads, went back into bios and set cores to auto and it is still at 4 cores 8 threads
