Disabling internal bluetooth antenna to use USB dongle.

I'm trying to use my Dual-Shock 4 controller without having to constantly have the charging wire connected.

My PC has an internal bluetooth adapter, but it seems to have extremely spotty connection at anything more than arms length - to the point that if I put my leg up between the controller and PC it can lose connection even though the computer is just ~2 feet away. So I bought a USB bluetooth dongle to fix the problem.

However I can't seem to get the computer to prefer the bluetooth dongle over the internal bluetooth - either that or the bluetooth dongle is even more awful than the internal bluetooth as it has the same exact problem despite being outside the case.

Disabling the internal bluetooth through the device manager has gotten me nowhere, as it just makes the bluetooth menu in windows 10 has disappear entirely until restart, so I can't get the controller to pair if I do that.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Solution
try disabling the device in the UEFI/BIOS.
if the internal is plugged into the motherboard via a PCIe slot you can remove the card.
